Summer Programs in Switzerland

COVID-19 Update

June 4, 2020

Dear Families and Friends,

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 TASIS Summer Programs. We are deeply saddened to report this news, but please know that the main factors contributing to this decision are the visa and travel restrictions that would have prevented the majority of our students from traveling to Switzerland. These same restrictions also apply to the majority of our veteran teachers, counselors, and program directors, all of whom are essential to providing our students the first-rate experience they deserve. We pride ourselves on bringing students and teachers from more than 60 nations to campus each summer so that they can learn and explore together, forge lasting friendships, and discover what it means to belong to a truly global community. We simply do not feel comfortable offering a program that cannot deliver the authentic TASIS experience.

We will instead turn our attention to planning for the summer of 2021 as we focus our efforts this summer on campus improvements and renovations that otherwise would not be possible with our usual full programs. We will be making improvements to our dining and dormitory facilities, adding a new pool and basketball courts, and greatly expanding our parking capacity. We expect everything to be ready for the summer of 2021, which we know everyone will be excited for!

For families that have already paid a deposit, we can either roll the deposit over to 2021 or process a refund. And as soon as we have solidified our 2021 dates, we will be back in touch.

I want to thank you once again for your incredible patience and support as we have all navigated this unprecedented situation, and please know how sorry we are not to have the opportunity to learn, play, and grow with your students this summer.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, anytime.

Warmest wishes,
